These Terms are the agreement between you and RepCall. They cover how you may use the app, the content you post, and the limits of what RepCall is responsible for. RepCall is a social fitness app that involves other real people, so a few of these rules exist to keep everyone safe. Please read them — by using RepCall you agree to them.
The short version. You must be 18 or older. Be decent to other people — there is zero tolerance for abusive users or objectionable content, and we can remove content or ban accounts. You keep ownership of your photos and videos, but you give us permission to show them to the friends you choose. RepCall helps you prove and share workouts; it is not a medical or fitness professional and location verification is best-effort, not a guarantee. If something goes wrong, our liability is limited as set out below. These Terms are governed by the laws of Dubai, UAE.
These Terms of Service and End-User License Agreement (together, the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you ("you", "your") and RepCall ("RepCall", "we", "us", "our"), the provider of the RepCall mobile application and related services (the "Service"). You can contact us at hello@repcall.app.
By downloading, accessing, or using RepCall, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
RepCall is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service. By using RepCall you confirm that you are 18 or older and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. The Service is not directed to, and must not be used by, anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will remove it.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download and use one copy of the RepCall app on a device you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. This is a license, not a sale; we and our licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including the RepCall name, the "Rep" mascot, artwork, software, and all related intellectual property.
You may not, and may not allow anyone else to: copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service; reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble it except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law; rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense it; remove any proprietary notices; use it to build a competing product; or access it through automated means (bots, scrapers) except as we expressly permit.
RepCall works because people trust that check-ins are real and that the space is friendly. You agree that you will not:
RepCall has a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. There is no warning quota — content that violates this section may be removed, and accounts that violate it may be suspended or permanently banned, at our discretion and without refund.
"Objectionable content" includes, without limitation: pornographic, sexually explicit, or nudity-based content; content that is defamatory, harassing, bullying, hateful, or that attacks or demeans a person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic; content depicting or promoting violence, self-harm, or dangerous acts; content that is illegal under UAE law; child sexual abuse material or any sexualisation of minors (which we report to the relevant authorities); and content that infringes another person's intellectual-property or privacy rights.
"Abusive users" are people who harass, threaten, bully, stalk, impersonate, or repeatedly target others, or who post objectionable content. We reserve the right to remove any content and to suspend or terminate any account that we determine, in our reasonable judgement, violates these Terms or the Community Guidelines.
RepCall provides in-app tools to report content and to block other users. We aim to review reported content and act on it — including removing content and ejecting the users who post it — within approximately 24 hours, as described in Section 8 and in the Community Guidelines.
"Your Content" means the photos, videos, username, display name, profile photo, and any other material you submit through the Service (such as check-in media and, if you use it, your private Progress Vault). You keep ownership of Your Content. We do not claim ownership of it.
To operate the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, back up, reproduce, resize/re-encode, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and the people you choose to share it with (for example, showing a check-in photo to your accepted friends in the feed, or serving your Progress Vault photos back to you). This license exists only so the app can technically function. It ends when you delete the relevant content or your account, except for (a) content others have already been shown and may retain outside our control, and (b) residual copies in routine backups, which are purged on our normal backup cycle as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use Your Content for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not license it to third parties for their own purposes.
You are solely responsible for Your Content and represent that you have all rights necessary to share it and that it does not violate these Terms or any law or third-party right.
Feedback you send us (ideas, suggestions) is not confidential, and we may use it without obligation to you.
If you see content or behaviour that breaks these Terms or the Community Guidelines, use the in-app Report tool. You can also block any user, which removes the connection between you both ways and prevents them from re-adding you.
We review reports and take action we consider appropriate, which may include removing content, issuing a warning, restricting features, or suspending or permanently banning an account. Our operational goal is to review reported content and act within approximately 24 hours. We may also act on content we detect ourselves. We are not obligated to monitor all content proactively, and moderation decisions are made in our reasonable judgement; we may decline to explain individual decisions where doing so would compromise safety or privacy.
RepCall checks your device location at the moment of a check-in to confirm you are at a recognised workout venue, using third-party place data (Google Places) and, in some cases, wearable workout data. This verification is best-effort, not a guarantee. GPS can be inaccurate (especially indoors), venues may be mislabelled or missing from third-party databases, and determined users may attempt to defeat it. A "verified" badge means our checks passed; it is not a warranty that a person was physically present, and you should not rely on it as proof for any purpose beyond the app's social features.
Exercise carries inherent risks. You are solely responsible for exercising safely and within your ability. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting or changing any exercise program, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have any concern about your health. If you experience pain, dizziness, or discomfort, stop and seek medical help. Any health, calorie, strain, or heart-rate figures shown in the app (for example, from WHOOP) are provided by third parties for information only and may be inaccurate; do not rely on them for medical decisions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you use RepCall and exercise at your own risk.
RepCall works with third-party services, including our hosting/authentication provider (Supabase), a places provider (Google Places), a push-notification service (Expo), and, if you connect it, a wearable provider (WHOOP). Your use of a connected third-party service is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy, and we are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their content. We may add, change, or remove third-party integrations over time.
If you enable notifications, RepCall may send you push notifications and in-app prompts related to the Service — for example, a friend checking in, a nudge from a friend, or a reminder that your streak is at risk. You can control or turn off notifications in your device settings. We do not use notifications for third-party advertising.
You may stop using RepCall and delete your account at any time. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service, remove content, or delete your account, at any time and without prior notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or any law, if required to protect the Service or other users, or if we discontinue the Service. Where reasonable and lawful, we will try to give you notice. On termination, your license to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content licenses already granted to other users, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law — will survive.
RepCall is provided free of charge at launch. If we discontinue the Service or terminate your access for a breach of these Terms, you are not entitled to any refund or compensation.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or free of harmful components, that location or workout verification will be accurate, or that any content is accurate or reliable. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you, and you may have rights under the law of your country of residence that these Terms do not override.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RepCall will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including any personal injury, property damage, or loss arising from exercise, from reliance on location or health data, or from the conduct or content of other users — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us to use the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim (which, for a free service, is zero), or (b) USD 50. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our proven negligence, or for fraud).
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for, and to reimburse us for, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of any law or of another person's rights. We may take over the defence of any such matter, in which case you agree to cooperate with us.
The following applies when you obtain the RepCall app from the Apple App Store, and equivalent terms apply for other app stores such as Google Play (each, an "App Store Provider"):
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and provide reasonable notice (for example, an in-app notice) before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the Service and delete your account.
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Service are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the applicable federal laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Dubai, UAE will have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any non-waivable right you have as a consumer to bring proceedings in, or to rely on the mandatory laws of, your own country of residence. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
